United Kingdom One Pound coin for 1990. Silver Proof 'Standard' Boxed with Royal Mint Certificate FDC. The coin features on its reverse the national emblem of Wales, the leek, encircled by the Royal Diadem. First appearing on the One Pound coins of 1985, the design is the work of the renowned silversmith Leslie Durbin. The obverse carries Raphael Maklouf’s elegant portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the Royal style and Titles in Latin 'Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith.' The Welsh inscription PLEIDIOL WYF I'M GWLAD ('True am I to my country') appears on the edge of the coin. SPECIFICATIONS: This One Pound coin is struck to Proof quality in sterling (.925) silver. It weighs 9.50 g and measures 22.50 millimetres in diameter.
