1984 United Kingdom Silver Proof "Piedfort" One Pound Coin. The 1984 witnesses the introduction of the first of a series of new reverse designs, representing the four constituent parts of the United Kingdom. However, the first to appear is the Scottish variant, showing appropriately, the floral emblem of Scotland which is the thistle. It features on its reverse an intricate design, created by Leslie Durbin, the design shows the Scottish thistle encircled by the Royal Diadem. The obverse bears Arnold Machin exquisite portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. This one pound coin, struck to the highest proof quality in sterling .925 silver, weighs 19.00 grammes and measures 22.5 millimetres in diameter. GRADE: Stunning, FDC With Royal Mint Certificate.
