£115.00

2004 - 2007 United Kingdom, Silver Proof One Pound Standard (4) Coin Collection. Minted in Sterling .925 silver. 22.50mm in diameter and each coin weight: 9.50g. Being legal tender coins of the United Kingdom, all four bear the Queen's portrait on the obverse and, like all £1 coins issued since 1983, her portrait is surrounded by her Royal titles and edged by a hundred beads, one each for the hundred pence per pound. Each reverse in the bridge series has been given a border relating to the bridge depicted and so is unique to its coin. The 2004 coin represents Scotland and depicts the spectacular Forth Rail Bridge. A gigantic cantilever bridge completed in 1890. The 2005 coin for Wales features Telford's magnificent bridge over the Menai Straits, linking Anglesey with the mainland. The 2006 coin displays the monumental Egyptian Arch, the stonework bridge completing the Dublin to Belfast railway. The 2007 coin features the Gateshead Millennium Bridge on its reverse, as the world's first tilting bridge, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is indeed a masterpiece of modern design and engineering. It was officially opened by the Queen in May 2002. Each obverse features the portrait of the Queen approved for use on coins of the United Kingdom from 1998. And designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. GRADE: As issued by the Royal Mint with the Certificate of Authenticity.
