The main feature is the silver One Dollar Celebrating 50 Years of "THE NATIONAL BALLET OF CANADA" Established in 1951 by English dancer Celia Franca, one of the principal dancers in the company's opening performance of LES SYLPHIDES, a classic ballet captured in this elegant coin design by renowned artist Scott NcKowen, In 1970, the National Ballet of Canada achieved international acclaim as the only classical ballet company to be invited to perform at Expo '70 in Osaka, Japan. For over thirty years, the company has performed to thunderous applause around the world.
