Tristan Da Cunha, 1987 Silver Proof Crown FDC. Specially Struck to Commemorate The Ruby Wedding Anniversary of H.M. Queen Elizabeth, & Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. This coin is struck in Sterling (.925) silver, weighs 28.28 grammes and measures 38.61 mm in diameter, only 2000 coins issued. The reverse design by medallic Sculptor Ron Dutton features the Rose of England, at the centre of which is a crown and the initials of the Royal couple. Surrounding the rose are two interlocking anchors, symbolising the security of the Royal Marriage, and the inscription which reads 'Elizabeth and Philip 1947 - 1987'. The obverse bears the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty with the inscription, "Queen Elizabeth II, Tristan da Cunha", and the denominational value of 50 pence.
