DESIGNS AND SPECIFICATIONS

This commemorative coin has been struck in cupro-nickel
in Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
it measures 39.61 mm in diameter, weighs 28.28g
The obverse design features the Raphael Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
As now used on all Guernsey's circulating coinage,
together with the Crest taken from the Seal of the Bailiwick
granted in 1279 by Edward I.
The date, 1988, also appears on the obverse.
The reverse, by Royal Mint engraver Robert Elderton, shows a head and shoulders
portrait of William II, known as 'Rufus', King of England.
The portrait is surrounded by the inscription
WILLIAM II 1087-1100 TWO POUNDS.
