To commemorate the 1991 Rugby World Cup, this Five Dollar has been specially minted for the reserve Bank of New Zealand. It is the first time a legal tender coin carrying a rugby design has been struck anywhere in the world. The reverse features the Webb Ellis Cup and two rugby players, one of whom is wearing the uniform of New Zealand's All Blacks. The obverse bears the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Raphael Maklouf.
