Obverse: Second crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara.
Lettering: ELIZABETH II NEW ZEALAND
Reverse: Crowned shield of New Zealand with two fern leaves encircling from above, denomination below.
Lettering: ONE DOLLAR.
