Minted in Pure (99.9%) Silver 1 Troy Ounce Diameter 40mm & a mintage of only 30,000, with outer card box as issued 68875. This fine silver $5 coin has been produced to celebrate the life of Her Majesty The Queen Mother who passed away on 30 March 2002. Born Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon on 4 August 1900, she was the ninth of ten children. Her long and well-lived life spanned the entire twentieth century and Australia's modern era as a Federation. Her title of Queen came about on the coronation of her husband as King George VI on May 12, 1937. The title of Queen Mother was bestowed on her following the death of the King and the accession of her daughter, the young Princess Elizabeth, to the throne on 6 February 1952.
