This coin collection contains Proof versions of the circulating range of United Kingdom coins for 2000 and includes a commemorative crown celebrating the millennium as well as a special fifty pence coin marking the 130th Anniversary of the Public Libraries Act of 1850. The reverse of the £2, symbolic of technological progress from the Iron Age to the Internet, made its debut in 1997 and that of the £1 coin represents Wales, being part of a series honouring the four constituent countries of the United Kingdom.
