The obverse of this coin features Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in the most recently updated portrait by British Royal Mint designer Jody Clark.
The reverse of the coin depicts a ferocious, roaring Lion of England. This spectacular image is the first depicted in this coin series. Originally, the Queen's Beasts were sculptures used at Her Majesty's Coronation in 1953. These animals represent the Queen's ancestors. The reverse of the coin was also designed by Jody Clark.
