On 29 July 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales married the Lady Diana Spencer. In celebration of their tenth wedding anniversary the Royal Mint had been authorised to strike a Limited number of Silver Proof coin for the Falkland Islands. The reverse of this commemorative coin has been designed and modelled by Royal Mint engraver Derek Gorringe. It features cameo portraits of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Orange blossom, traditionally worn by brides, can be found around this beautiful design and a surrounding inscription reads ROYAL WEDDING OF HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER with the words 10TH ANNIVERSAY 1991 below.
