This brilliant uncirculated collection of 1984-dated coinage includes the historic Scottish one-pound coin, which is the latest addition to the nation's range of circulation coins. The Scottish design is the first of four designs, by Leslie Durbin to be used and, in the formal words of the Proclamation, shows 'a Thistle eradicated enfiling a representation of our Royal Diadem'. It will appear on all the one-pound coins of 1984, together with a special inscription on the edge, NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT. The Latin motto of the Order of the Thistle, it may be translated as 'No-one provokes me with impunity'.
