2012 Five Pounds Diamond Jubilee, Cupro-Nickel Coin, GVF

In 2012, The Royal Mint issued a £5 crown to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Commemorative Crowns are issued almost every year, with a unique design for each. The Diamond Jubilee Crown is the first coin ever struck to commemorate a Diamond Jubilee
The obverse is a new portrait of Her Majesty the Queen crowned and wearing the robes of the Order of the Garter created especially for the Diamond Jubilee by Ian Rank-Broadley. The text ELIZABETH II D G REG F D FIVE POUNDS circles the portrait.
Designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, the reverse features the Mary Gillick portrait of the young Queen Elizabeth. The latin words DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS (May God Guide My Steps) appear to the right of the portrait and the date 2012 to the left.
