The famous figure of Britannia first appeared on British coinage in 1672 and for years has served as a symbol of huge national pride. Since their release in 1997, the Britannia coins have been struck in 958/1000 silver dating back to 1696. 2013 is the first year in which the Britannia has been struck in 999/1000 Silver.
This limited edition set features one of the very last strikes of 2012, and one of the very first of the brand new 2013 editions. Both are permanently sealed in a capsule with a postmark to certify their year of issue.
